Art Inspires

Here at The Practice we take our inspiration from a number of sources and at the same time, we hope to inspire. After all, that is what creative marketing is all about.

For the creation of our new website, the relationship between geometry, colour and design played an important role. Influenced by the Bauhaus school of design which opened in Germany during the Weimar Republic, our design team set about creating a website that reflected the creative nature of The Practice and showcased who we are as much as what we do. Other artists such as Jan Maarten Voskuil, a Dutch artist who uses simple designs on 3D canvases, also played an important inspiration for our new site.

Of course, our influences are not limited to works of art or their artists. Although you could certainly call fashion works of art, they are not merely to be observed, but interacted with and worn. One of our favourite designers, DavidDavid, although many of us are not brave enough to wear one of his creations, was certainly a revelation. His use of primary colour and geometry also reflected the vision we had for our brand and the message of creativity we wished to portray.

It is our philosophy that to take inspiration from things around you is to be in touch with your surroundings. There is no greater design than something that invokes a sense of familiarity in the eye of the beholder. Colours and shapes are some of the first things we interpret in our young lives, and it was this familiarity that ultimately inspired us!
