iOS7: We’ve updated!
We at The Practice were a little late to update our iPhone operating systems to iOS7, mostly because we were wary after reports of bugs were mentioned. Plus, the update also meant we had to filter out and delete a few of our apps in order to gain more storage space- something which took some careful consideration!

The iPhone 5C and 5S: Worth upgrading to?
When news of the iPhone 5C and 5S surfaced, we at The Practice were naturally eager to check out the specifications. So should we rush out, put our names down on the waiting list, and immediately upgrade to a new model, or should we stick with our current phones? We weigh up the pros and cons…
Accessorising with tech: Fashion Week and digital trends
September heralds the start of Fashion Month, when the world is abuzz with news of the latest collections and hottest trends to come off the runway. In response, we’re seeing increased social media use amongst forces and civilians for military tactics, news, and communication. So will this rise in digital use serve to help the cause, and even aid civilian safety? The Practice team were keen to find out…
Miley and the VMAs: Is social media buzz what counts?
Is it ironic that Miley Cyrus became this week’s most talked about star, despite not taking home any awards at Sunday’s Video Music Awards? Of course it is, but in today’s digital world, that’s not surprising. So just how much does online buzz count for boosting a celebrity’s brand, and more importantly, driving sales?
British Airways and the strength of emotional advertising
It seems that for the past month, everyone, including us at The Practice, have been talking about British Airways’ tear jerking advert, “A Ticket to Visit Mum”. Featuring beautiful cinematography and a heartwarming story, the 5-minute video is most definitely up there with the airline’s most compelling campaigns. So what does it show about the power of emotional video advertising, and what can we hope to see next?
Pop-up stores: Revolutionising the way we shop?
The pop-up retail store is not a new concept, but it’s a powerful one. Over the past few years, we at The Practice have witnessed the boom in pop-up shops, restaurants, and show spaces peppering the London scene, and revolutionising the way businesses market their brand’s identity. So which have been successful in facilitating their brand image, and how have they changed the way we, as consumers, are marketed to?
Google Glass and the future of advertising
The future of advertising is always something hotly debated by The Practice team. We love to speculate on which digital mediums will be the next big platforms for marketers to utilise, and how tactics such as real-time advertising will feature at upcoming events. Given our fascination with the subject, we were interested to hear news of Google’s new patent that could one day allow for advertising on Google Glass.
